Without the help, commitment and enthusiasm of our coaches Monifieth Ladies FC just would not work. We are very lucky to have a number of coaches who exhibit those aforementioned qualities in bucket loads. Elaine Stenson is one of our latest recruits to the coaching team at Monifieth Ladies FC and along with Graham Mearns she takes responsibility for coaching and running one of our U13 teams – Monifieth Blues. Elaine first started coming along when her elder daughter started playing football and then Elaine found herself doubly involved when her younger daughter pulled on her boots too! Her daughters' interest and the fact that she is a keen sportsperson herself meant that it didn't take her long to get more involved in helping with the coaching.

We had a chat with Elaine about how she got involved with Monifieth Ladies FC – have a listen:

Graham Mearns is the Chairperson of Monifieth Ladies FC. He has been involved with the club since its inception in 2003 and over the years he has shown a commitment to contributing to the growth of the club by acting as a volunteer, fundraiser, coach and now as Chairperson. Graham became involved all those years ago because his daughter had expresed an interest in playing so he came along with her and eventually got himself involved in the running of the club. He believes that football has been great for his daughter and that it is a great sport for girls to get involved with. He also believes that a sporting ethic should be at the heart of the club and he strives to ensure that all our teams play in a sporting fashion and that they aways respect their opponents. Graham is qualified as a Grade 3 SFA coach.
