casino_webRien ne va plus, or no more bets as they say up our way! 😉

Well that's the cry you might  be hearing if you come along to our fundraiser Casino Night that will take place towards the end of May. Last year we held one of these and it proved to be a hugely successful fundraising event and one that everyone that attended enjoyed. The idea is that you buy a number of chips at the start of the evening and that you use these to earn more chips on the roulette and black jack tables. The perosn with the most chips at the end of the night wins a highly desirable prize!!!

The people who come and do this are trained croupiers and the experience is one that is really exciting and fun but with the knowledge that the money you spend will be going to support the work that we do to allow girls to play football with and for us.

A buffet is provided and a bar is available in case anyone fancies a Babycham or an occasional half pint 😉

The details of the event are as follows:

Venue: Ballumbie Castle Golf Club

Date: Saturday 31st May 2014

Time: 7:30pm

Cost: £10 a ticket and this gives you an initial £10 worth of chips to play the tables. More chips can be purchased on the night.

This map should help you find your way there:

The Gothia Cup is the world’s largest international youth football tournament. Each year, around 1600 teams from 80 nations take part and they play 4500 games on 110 fields. It’s the teams, and participants from around the world that make the tournament unique. A meeting place for the world’s youth, irrespective of religion, skin color or nationality, with football as the common denominator. Gothia Cup was first held in 1975. The tournament was started by the football associations BK Häcken, GAIS and a local newspaper but has been owned since the early 80′s entirely and solely by BK Häcken. Through the years, almost a million players from a total of 140 countries have participated in the tournament. In 2014 the organisers celebrate the success of their event and their 40 year anniversary!

This year there are are 2 teams representing Scotland in the 2014 Gothia cup. Hearts are representing the boys and Monifieth Ladies FC U15 will be representing the girls. The week long world youth international football festival is from 12 th July to 18th July 2014.

As part of the fundraising events there was an afternoon tea in the Craws Nest in Carnoustie.

The event organised by Allison Curran raised almost £500. Monifieth Ladies FC would like to thank Allison and also all the staff at the Craws Nest for all their efforts in making the afternoon such a success.

justgivinglargeMonifieth Ladies FC has just opened an account with JustGiving, the world’s leading platform for charity giving.

Since Just Giving's  launch in 2001, they have enabled over 21 million people to raise £1.5 billion for over 13,000 charities and causes in radically new ways. Their aim is to make giving and raising money for charity simple, social and rewarding. Through online and mobile they bring the best that technology has to offer to charities worldwide – which explains why more charities recommend JustGiving than any other online fundraising platform.

They run their business by charging charities a small fee on donations. In the UK they reclaim an extra 25% for the charity in Gift Aid – see an example of how this works for a typical donation.

They re-invest any surplus cash into developing their innovative world-class technology to make giving to charity easier and quicker. From text donations to company fundraising, they create more ways for more people to give.

At Monifieth Ladies FC we hope that this facility will help those interested in offering financial support for the work that we do in encouraging and supporting girls to play football. You can have a look at our page via this link and any donations or expressions of financial support to assist in what we are doing are very welcome indeed.

Monifieth Ladies FC are very pleased to be associated with sponsors who give very generous support to all our teams. This support recently helped us purchase new kit and training tops for all our teams and to top this we managed to get Monifieth Ladies FC branded kit bags for all our girls.

We would like to give thanks to the people from Window Wizard and Whytes of Monifieth whose sponsorship is helping us ensure that our players have the best of equipment to help them in their development as football players.

The girls loved their bags and certainly look the part in training when they all turn out in our club colours.
